Hutto
Founded in 1876 by James Emory Hutto, the city of Hutto is one of the top Austin area suburbs. With nearly 8 square miles of land, the population was 27,577 at the 2020 census. Hutto has a cute downtown district with silos to mimic Magnolia Market in Waco and one of the best pie restaurants in all of Texas, Texan Cafe & Pie Shop. Hutto is also one of the more affordable suburbs of Austin, making it a go to spot for someone looking for value. Many of the neighborhoods have a suburban feel, but you can still find neighborhoods with some larger acreage tracts. If you’re looking for affordability but don’t want to sacrifice proximity to Austin and city amenities, Hutto is a great place to start your search.
